I have a pretty serious propensity for drifting into and out of hobbies a few times a year. Ham radio being one of those means that it occasionally gets ‘shelved’. What do I mean by that? Well, the radios are still on the desk and I’ll routinely flip on the power supply to make sure my 40ah lithium iron phosphate battery stays topped up, maybe I’ll even turn on my venerable Icom IC-7000 and listen to one of the local 2 meter repeaters, but picking up the mic and actually talking to anyone is a chore. Largely, the extend of my amatuer radio involvement over the last year or so has been relegated to ‘checking the mail’ and blasting packets out on APRS to let folks know that i’m still alive.
And that’s really the purpose of this post: to let you know that I’m still here. Happy Thanksgiving, Y’all.
